AdvisorAdvocate Fall News
Enhancements, Coming Soon – by Susan Black, MBA
Director of Financial Planning
eMoney Advisor prides itself for being a company built by advisors for advisors. We aim to incorporate feedback from advisors in every release. We are very excited to be including the following new features in the AdvisorPlatform V4.6 planned for the beginning of the first quarter of 2007:
  • Create custom asset classes. An expanded list of 44 market indices will be available to tie to these asset classes.
  • Override asset classes on aggregated acccounts.
  • Edit rates of return for the historical data in order to demonstrate a more conservative projection.
  • Begin simulation during the current month in addition to monthly vs. annual compounding.
  • Model the state death tax exemption amount.
  • Associate negative growth rates to assets decreasing in value.
  • Track real estate depreciation costs.
  • Model maximum disability and long term care benefits, demonstrate temporary disability, and taxable as well as non-taxable insurance benefits.
  • Create multiple what if scenarios within the same plan. For example, model what happens if my client prematurely dies at age 60, 65, 70, etc.
  • Model a buy/sell transaction in Base Facts. You will now be able to model the downsizing of a home or the selling of a business as part of a client’s Base Facts without having to create a Plan in the Planning Center.
  • Model Installment sales with associated tax treatment.
  • Model existing and recommended Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts including a new Estate Plan Design Technique Report and Supplemental Report.
  • Design the order of estate distribution through enhanced Wills & Bequests. This will provide ultimate flexibility in distributing assets to heirs.
  • Model balloon payments on liabilities.
  • Model recurring future expenses. For example, the purchase of a new car every 3 years.
  • New and improved user interface for the Planning Center making it easier to use.

There are many additional features that will be available in the upcoming upgrade. In addition, look for the following as well as other exciting enhancements in the Spring: the ability to generate goal planning reports directly from the comprehensive plan, a stand-alone goal planning module for those who do not want to produce a comprehensive plan and a retirement analysis module that will automatically calculate the best drawdown strategy.
